HealthWorks! To Close Permanently

Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been in communication with local education leaders. Field trips, after-school programs, etc., are simply not safe or possible right now. The goal of HealthWorks! has always been to educate children on how to make healthy choices. Inviting children to an enclosed space where the virus could so easily spread would be in direct conflict of that mission. With that in mind, HealthWorks! will now permanently close.

We want to express our sincere appreciation to the HealthWorks! staff. It was more than a job for all of them – they truly loved the children they worked with. We are also grateful for every donation, visit, field trip, birthday party and more. Your commitment to HealthWorks! made a difference, some of which will not be evidenced for years to come. Since the doors of HealthWorks! opened in 2009, more than 250,000 people have visited and learned more about healthy choices. The health education provided will have an impact on future generations.

HealthWorks! has always depended on donations and the financial support of the Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi (HCF). The Health Care Foundation of North Mississippi fuels the mission of North Mississippi Health Services by supporting patient assistance, health career scholarships, diabetes education, and innovations in patient care. HCF still holds health education as an important value and will continue to support funds and causes that benefit the health of the people in our community.
